Another great resource would be to find referrals for nanny care. There are limited options for daycare in the area and after our daughter was born this winter, I didn't know where to turn to find referrals for a nanny..so we're shuffling and coordinating daycare in wyckoff while working in manhattan

Loreen Lesso was kind enough to share this information and offer herself as point of contact for babysitters here in Glen Rock, NJ:

I am a Cadet Girl Scout troop leader. My girls are in 8th grade, most will be turning 14 with the next few months. They are all Red Cross certified. I know many, like my daughter, would be interested in expanding their client base. I would be willing to take on the role of contact person to match up families with scouts based. Parents are welcome to contact me via email or to call me at 201-670-8962.
Also, if families have a need of older girls, perhaps those who could drive, there are plenty of older scout troops in town to consider. Having dependable babysitters is indeed key.
If you feel this would be a good resource you are welcome to add this to the blog. Keep up the good work on the newsletter.

The High School used to maintain a list of students looking for babysitting jobs. That is where I found many fine sitters. Unfortunately, they stopped doing that when my kids were still small. Another resource might be through group associations. The Newcomers Club used to maintain a sitter list, but I don't know if they still do so. There is a wide age range in the Jaycees - one of our sitters was a daughter of someone my husband met throught that group. I would think the WICS would also be a resource.
